Prairie Works Stewardship Program (PWSP)

Informational SignageNo different than cars and houses, natural areas need to be maintained.  A stewardship regime is needed to keep natural areas healthy because natural processes, such as grazing and fires, no longer occur on their own and invasive species have become so prevalent.  Stewardship of natural areas is a dynamic process and the activities necessary to maintain a natural area can change weekly, monthly and yearly.

PWSP is designed to ensure that your natural area will remain healthy and diverse.  Large or small, Prairie Works will make periodic visits to your site to control aggressive species that are detrimental to the health of native plant communities.  Prairie Works will customize an activity chart that is specific to your site and adhere to it over several years. Based on site visits and monitoring, we will adjust the stewardship program accordingly to respond to native plant and invasive species growth.

Years of experience ensures accurate and efficient control of weedy and invasive plants. The Prairie Works stewardship crew is trained in noxious weeds, invasive species and the required actions needed to accellerate the growth of conservative native species. Utilizing an arsenal of tools and equipment PWSP clients can be sure that constant pressure will be applied to the betterment of thier natural area.

The stewardship program can be adjusted for any natural area, regardless of size or complexity, and for an amount that suits any budget.
